FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENTS
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will conduct a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). An FBA includes observation, data collection, data analysis, and recommendations. The objective of an FBA is to identify the function of a behavior. Most often an FBA is followed by completion of a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).

Behavior Intervention Plans
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will create an individualized Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) based on a prior Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). A BIP includes strategies to improve and/or replace the undesirable behavior. BIP’s can be written for a variety of settings including home, school, or across multiple environments.

School & Related Service Provider Collaboration
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will meet with school staff, speech therapist, occupational therapist, or other related service provider to identify the individual’s challenging behavior(s) and offer function-based solutions. The BCBA will discuss how teaching appropriate replacement behaviors and behavior reduction occur concurrently.

1:1 ABA therapy
ABA therapy involves teaching behaviors essential to functioning effectively in the home, school, and community. ABA can also decrease severe problem behaviors that endanger health and safety, and limit educational, residential, or vocational options. ABA can be used with a variety of individuals with a variety of diagnoses (Autism, ADHD, etc).

Parent Coaching
A BCBA will work 1:1 with parents and caregivers to discuss preventative and reactive strategies for maladaptive behaviors. The BCBA will coach parents and caregivers on how to teach functional alternative behaviors. Parent coaching ensures generalization of skills.
